For tomorrow's memorial day autocross at the Pontiac Silverdome (and for the odd !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! - IT WAS ALWAYS THE PONTIAC SILVERDOME YOU DOLT!) I decided to decorate my new helmet and give the FiST a quick wash. 1500 miles = break-in is done and the fun can begin! Bonus jalopness after the jump!
All these helmet pictures were taken before the wash. but I want to do a martini striping/livery on my whole car eventually. Figured I'd start with the helmet.
After the helmet was done, time for a quick wash!
And as thanks for reading, here's our garage/driveway this weekend. A mk1 GTI is under the cover, and there is a 2002 in the garage with an FR-S obscured by the 280Z with the A4 avant (manual, V6) serving as the winter beater. Oh and the other FR-S and manual V6 F-150 are out front. There's just too much jalop in the driveway.

Should've gotten a white one if you wanted the Martini livery on the FiST. . .

Eh, the livery is far off in the future. I like the blue more than the white for now. Plus this is the livery I want to base mine on. Blue will work as a base.

Alright that is a good livery to want. A full vinyl wrap would work for that. Then you could also tell people you are a Movistar. . .

Well about three years ago, this would've been one of our driveways the day before an autocross - 1997 monte carlo, 2006 Mazda 3 (automatic), 1985 pontiac fiero 4 cylinder.......and that's about it. We've moved up in the Jalop world since we graduated college.

Yeah the vinyl wrap was the plan all along. About 2 grand for one with graphics and words that would jack up the paint price a TON. Plus it keeps the paint in good shape if I decide to go rallycrossing. Oh and it's a Colin McRae car so it turns my fiesta into a McRae tribute. Pretty much the best FWD car out there is one that pays a homage to the WRC. Case in point - I have a soft spot for anyone bold enough to do up their FWD celica in a castrol or marlboro paint scheme. It's just too damn cool.

I'm not going to lie, I really liked the liveries of the late 90's rally cars. I also really want one of those weirdo Corolla wagon rally cars with the round head lamps that Subaru stole. . . Also a Telefonica Movistar car. . .

Jeeeez, I'm jelly of that entire fleet that you've got there.
You could always Plasti-Dip the wheels white for extra rally power once you've done that vinyl wrap.

Ah I see, so it's a group you've been autocrossing with for a while.
Let the FR-S owners know that they may want to invest in a PCV oil catch can if they are autocrossing often. I collect a little under ounce of oil blow-by per autocross (ours are usually 10-15 runs).

I saw a 555 wrapped WRX in my area a while ago and I almost needed a new pair of pants right then and there. Rally cars in general have some of the best liveries. The large amounts of bland sedan and hatchback bodywork lets them be a bit creative and bold. Look at how cool they made the corolla look.

Well the FR-S owner also owns the 280Z and the Z is going to be his new autocross car. It might still get track time though. The other FR-S is a corporate lease from toyota.

Yeah, there is something about this car that if I saw it in real life I'd lose my shit, quite literally. I fell in love with this car when I first learned about it in like 96 or 97. Its just so pretty.
